Milk to the rescue
Got fresh ink stains? Then grab some milk! Soak the stained part of your garment in a bowl of milk. Leave it on for a few hours and then wash it in the usual way. This works especially well on white or light-colored fabrics.
Alcohol or disinfectant gel
For stubborn pen marks, alcohol is the solution. Dab some rubbing alcohol or a drop of hand sanitizer with alcohol on the stain and rub gently with a cloth. Then rinse with cold water and wash the garment as usual.
Toothpaste
Apply a small amount of white toothpaste (not gel) to the stain. Gently rub with a cloth or your fingers and then rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
Hairspray
Old pen marks can be removed with hairspray. Spray the stain generously, let it soak in for a while and then dab the ink away with a cloth. Afterwards you can wash the garment.
Vinegar and dish soap
Mix equal parts white vinegar and dish soap with a little warm water. Dab this mixture on the stain with a cloth and let it soak in for a while. Rinse well and put it in the washing machine.
Baking soda as a powerhouse
Make a paste of baking soda and a little water. Spread this on the ink stain and let it dry. Brush off the paste and wash the garment.
Preventing worse
The faster you treat the stain, the greater the chance that it will disappear completely. Avoid hot temperatures until the stain is completely gone, because heat can actually cause the ink to soak into the fabric.
With these tips, you can save your clothes from those annoying pen marks. This way, your outfit will keep looking spick and span!
